Self-Paced Learning Materials

ATS provides access to instructional, multimedia software titles to help faculty and students learn to use sophisticated media production and delivery tools as a means to enhance teaching and learning.

How to access available multimedia software titles:

  1. Visit one of the Digital Media Viewing Stations within the Media Center in ATS and select from the available titles.
  2. View select titles online by accessing the ATS eMediaCenter Server. Click the highlighted titles below or connect manually at STAGER:ATS-eMediaCenter. When prompted, login as Guest.

    NOTE:
    Online access requires a Franklin & Marshall internet (IP) address. Licenses allow for a maximum of 20 concurrent online users.

    Please disconnect from the server when you are finished with the material so others may have access.

  3. Franklin & Marshall faculty may borrow a title on CD-ROM to view in the office, at home. or on the road from the ATS Media Center. (This option is available ONLY to Franklin & Marshall faculty.)

Learning HTML
Learning HTML is a movie-based training tutorial that is designed to help you understand HTML, its strengths and weaknesses, and how to identify and fix problems in a web page. More than just an HTML tutorial, Learning HTML covers the how and the why of HTML documents, including document structure, block- and inline-level tags, floating images, controlling white space, phrase- and font-markup, and much more! From setting up a simple web page to adding CSS style sheets and JavaScript rollovers, Learning HTML gives you the skills you need to take control of your HTML.

Running Time: Approximately 4 hours.

Learning iLife
Learning iLife is a movie-based tutorial that quickly gets you up to speed with Apple?s breakthrough suite of digital device management software. Build and manage your music library with iTunes 4. Organize and share your digital photos with iPhoto 2. Turn your home movies into professional-quality productions with iMovie 3. And bring your music, pictures, and movies together in iDVD 3 to produce DVDs playable in most set-top DVD players.

Running Time: 5 hours.

Learning Adobe PhotoShop Elements 2
Learning Adobe Photoshop Elements 2 is a movie-based workshop developed for beginning Photoshop Elements users. It is directed toward helping users of digital cameras and scanners to learn the basics of the tools and features of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2. Using simple step-by-step exercises, you will learn the fundamentals of correcting photos, retouching photos, making a photo collage, making a panorama composition, coloring artwork and much more. Discover some of the unique creative possibilities that the tools of this powerful yet easy-to-use program can bring to your photographs.

Running Time: Approximately 5 hours

Learning PhotoShop 7
Learning PhotoShop 7 is a movie-based training tutorial that will get you up to speed quickly with using Adobe Photoshop. This tutorial includes exercise files that you can try out at your own pace. Learning Adobe Photoshop 7 is a progressive learning process, starting with a foundation of the basics and moving into more complicated tasks that allow you to follow along and get results. With over 18 hours of footage, you can focus on areas that you need to understand in your day-to-day work with Adobe Photoshop, or learn completely from scratch. Understanding or prior knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is not required to get going with Learning Adobe Photoshop 7. This training is ideal for the absolute beginner or as a good refreshing look for users that want to become better acquainted with the workings of Adobe Photoshop 7.

Running Time: Approximately 18 hours.
