Image Acquisition

Image acquisition support is available to full-time faculty members for curriculum development purposes. ATS staff will coordinate the scanning process of up to 50 images for projects that meet the requirements defined below.

Faculty are welcome to use the Digital Media Creation Stations in ATS or submit this Image Acquisition Request Form to the Coordinator of Curricular Web Support in ATS, to have images scanned for curriculum development purposes.

Keep in mind:

  • Faculty may request that up to 50 images be scanned.
  • Please allow up to 10 working days for acquisition.
  • The requesting full-time faculty member will provide all information and a zip, CD, or other transport device for storage.
  • The Fair Use Guidelines of copyright precedent will be followed in determining legitimate requests. These guidelines set limits on the amount of material from a work that may be copied and what kinds of works may be copied. While the Fair Use Guidelines have permitted copies, for purposes such as... teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), in determining whether the use made of a work in any particular case is a fair use, these factors must be considered:
    1. the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;
    2. the nature of the copyrighted work;
    3. the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole;
    4. the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.
