The Media Studio in ATS is designed to promote the diffusion
of new instructional technology applications at the College. This multi-use
facility contains a combination of hardware and software designed to enhance
the instructional development production and distribution process.
The Media Studio provides a space for new kinds of instructional media
objects to be developed; it offers College faculty opportunities to "play" with
and create useful and unique digital media materials that have the potential
to enhance teaching and learning. The Media Studio is open to Franklin & Marshall
faculty "by appointment" and for scheduled Digital Sandbox Coffees.
The Media Studio contains the following components that support the integration
of technology within the curriculum and across appropriate College-related
events:
- Digital Media 'Sandbox'
- Advanced Digital Media Production Suite
- Multi-mode Media Distribution Systems
- Video and Audio Conferencing Suite
The Media Studio is integrated with the campus closed circuit video distribution
system and the campus data network to provide capabilities for multi-mode media
distribution of both live and archived presentations and events. You can also take a quick look around the Media Studio by taking a Virtual Tour.
